It is so very important to set a plan on how you are planning on achieving the goals you previously set. The only way you are going to be able to achieve them is if you PLAN on how to achieve them. They simply cannot be achieved without you putting any effort or planning into them.
There are different ways to devise a plan on how to achieve your goals.
First, it’s very important to plan out a timeline on when you plan to achieve this goal. Set a deadline the day that you have to have your goal achieved by. So if you plan on achieving your goal by January 1st of next year, then that is your deadline. Setting a deadline will make it so there is no time for you to slack off, because you are consciously aware that you have a deadline and all deadlines must be met.
Second, after you plan a deadline date for your goal, you need to make steps for each day or week. Each step should be harder and have more in it that the last one. So if your steps go weekly, then make sure that week two is harder then week one and so on. Remember not to set anything too hard right away, work up to the point where you can handle.
Third, display motivations so they are visible for you. Whether you put post its up in your office at work, or even a picture of what you plan on looking like a year from now, displaying motivational things in front of you will help you so you don’t forget.
Finally, make sure you follow your plan. If there is a day where you don’t follow it correctly, don’t be defeated so easily get back on track the next day. So many people will be doing so well on following their plan then suddenly have a slip up one day, and then think there is no way to get back on track. Just keep your mind positive and tell yourself you will get back to it tomorrow!
These all may seem very easy to follow but for a lot of people it’s hard to start the planning process. Many don’t know where to begin. If this happens to you the best way to start is my writing down what you want to achieve and different ways on how you think you could do it by.
After you start writing the ideas will be flowing then you’ll have an idea of where to begin. Being realistic is important. If you set a plan consisting of Week 1: Running 6 Miles Monday-Saturday, Eat 1200 calories, NO CARBS. Etc. then this is unrealistic. Start off at 2 or 3 miles and start out at 1500 calories. Starting off small and slowly increasing it will pay off in the end with better results.
Just remember, that no matter how big the goal you can achieve it if you have a positive attitude.
